Ohio, here we come.

Tomorrow Drew and I leave for a mini vacation to Ohio. We're staying with my parents (which means free yummy meals). I'm pretty excited. I haven't been home since June. Plus, Drew, my Mom and I are going to the OSU-Penn State game (please God let them not suck).

I am sad because we will be leaving Penny the Pug. Mandy and Trey were nice enough to volunteer to watch her when they can. I feel like she's going to wonder what happened to us and think we abandoned her. Plus, although I completely trust them, I am really scared something will happen to her while we're away.

We'll be gone October 29-November 1. Drew has only been to my house once about 2 years ago, so that should be interesting. My parents have come to visit us plenty of times, but we rarely can find the time to see them. I think it will be great, though.

Well, here's hoping...GO BUCKS.

Wisdom from my dad...

So, it made me feel a little better after my dad (who is neither a Red Sox or a Yankees fan...in fact a Cincy fan...and follows baseball closely) said, "Well at least now the Red Sox will shut the hell up about it all." (referring to the incesant whining of the Red Sox and their fans). Which, is true. And, it will be a lot harder to claim the Yankees buy their wins...because, they in fact lost. Maybe there will be a new generation of bitter baseball fans going after not just the Yankees but the Red Sox (who, by the way spend the 2nd highest). Oh well, all I can say is...Go Cards.

Well, that sucks

Ok, OK, I know. I guess I have to admit that those SOCKS (yes, jerks thats how you spell it.) did pull off the greatest comeback in baseball. But, that doesn't make ME feel any better.

What a bad year for sports.

But, maybe this win in Massachusetts could be a sign that another Massachusettian (?!?!) could pull off a big win. John Kerry, anyone?

Well, on to Saturday. The Bucks host Indiana for Homecoming. COME ON. There's NO WAY we can lose, right, right?!? Thats what Derek Jeter said. I may have to crawl into a hole underground for 3 months if we lose to freakin Indiana.

From ESPN.com--

"Will the Red Sox finally make history by overcoming their old nemesis? Or will the Yankees kick their old rivals in the groin again just as they're within reach of the promised land? Or will Boston doctors suture Ted Williams' head onto Johnny Damon's body? (Susan: No, Yes, and Now THAT would be way more interesting than stupid Curt Schilling)

It's Game 7 between the Yankees and the Red Sox. The past century, the past two Octobers, the past 25 meetings and most importantly, the past six games have led up to this."

Here's hoping...

My love for Moose

Can I just tell you how much I am in love with Mike Mussina? I mean really, what NYY girl wouldn't be totally infatuated with the pitcher? He is hot. Period.

Plus, he pitched a perfect game until the 6th inning last night. How exciting was that? I actually think there are two situations that make up a really good baseball game. First, if there's the possibility the pitcher might throw a perfect game. Second, a really close game (especially between a rivalry like this). Last night we got the best of both worlds (that is, if you're a Yankees fan). Until the 6th, there was that undenyable excitement of the possibility of a perfect game. And then, Boston ran up the score and almost tied it. Then, of course, the Yankees won. So, I'll repeat it just because I MUST record the stupidity of Martinez on this blog--Who's your daddy, Boston? :) Sorry, but he brought it on himself.

Dancing on our 'O' and digging through garbage

Yeah, so we lost again. Whatever. That doesn't make me half as mad as the fact that those f-ing Wisconsin players danced on our 'O' at the end of the game. This move sadly led to a fight between OSU and Wisconsin players. Good for them. Wisconsin deserved to get the shit beat out of them for that. It's completely unsportsmanlike and just down right dirty. See why I don't like Wisconsin? However, I was quite amused by a Dispatch reporters comment that in the fight after the game it was the best defense we played all day. I couldn't have put it better myself.

Also last night I threw away a shoebox. No one would have thought that was a bad idea, right? Yeah, well I guess the shoebox contained some tyoe of shoe warranty and something else important. The reason I'm not too clear on this is I was told this info around 3:30am. Apparently I made a grave mistake by throwing away the shoebox. In order to rectify this I ended up standing in the dumpster of our 11 floor apartment looking for this shoebox. Trash is gross, thats my general lesson from yesterday/early this morning. And, I'm so freaking tired now! Good thing I have tomorrow off (What are we supposed to celebrate on Columbus day?).

Gosh, I'm delierious!

Damn...double damn

Stupid Wisconsin. GRR... Every prediction I read for this weekend has Wisconsin favored against the Buckeyes. Wisconsin is slowly moving up my lists of teams I don't like (at the top of this list is, of course, that team up North followed closely by Cryami--meaning Miami). Those cheese jerks beat us last year and now they think they can just stroll into the Shoe and take us down.....JERKS. And...if they do...this will be the only time we have lost in the great Time of Tressel. How sad THAT will be.

Oh well, we are such a young team this year. It doesn't disappoint me so much to lose to Northwestern as it would to lose to Wisconsin. And, that's suprising because Wisconsin may be a better team, however Northwestern just got lucky. And, nothing is as disappointing as losing to..well, you know.

This could quite possibly be the best weekend to win. ESPN is calling it Showdown Saturday. Meaning, there will be a bunch of top 25 teams playing each other. So, if we can win, advancing to the top 5 or 10 is a possibility!

Hiatus

Hi all,

I'm back from...well, just being lazy (wow, did I hit the name of this blog right on the mark, or what?!?).

Over the past four weeks...Mandy moved in (yeah!), the Buckeyes won 3 in a row (yeah!)...and then lost (boo)....to NORTHWESTERN (double boo), but at least it was in overtime. And, to my complete surprise, I have been slightly busy at work. So busy, in fact, I have barely had time to work on ANY of my Teach for America application. The application is due quite soon in fact. And, I should really be working on it. But, I am a procrastinator. So, on we go.

Drew was lucky enough to get hired by Fords Theatre to run their first show, The Matchmaker. Which, is supremely awesome because he is paid SO well ($30/hr with TONS of time and a half overtime). Plus, he is also working at the bike store. So, no money woes this months. Especially, because we have a new tenant (Mandy!) helping us pay our bills.

The new roommate thing is going really well. My only worry was really only how Mandy would like Penny the Pug. And, to my complete relief, they love each other (who wouldn't love a perfect pug?)

Drew and I are awaiting to hear if The Matchmaker has been extended. We already purchased tickets to visit my parents in OH at the end of October and see a football game. But, if his show is extended we will have to figure something else out. I'll let you know.
